I am writing in response to “Shoah council director leaves legacy of education, awareness,” (Feb. 21). I met Barbara Wind, retired director of the Holocaust Council of Greater MetroWest NJ, when I was a library media specialist at West Orange High School. She graciously offered a group of our students a supervised trip to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. A survivor spoke to us on the bus and fielded questions from the students. The visit was an incredible experience that the students and I will never forget. I wish Barbara all the best as she pursues her dedication to writing poetry.
