Anne Kupperman

Anne Kupperman (Rosenbaum), 96, of West Orange died Jan. 13, 2015. She was born and raised in Elizabeth, where she lived before moving to Maplewood in 1954. 

Mrs. Kupperman graduated from Battin High School in 1936. She worked at Bamberger’s Department Store in Newark, where she met her husband-to-be, Nathan (“Nate”). They married in 1943, just before he was sent overseas for active World War II duty in the South Pacific. 

She took an active role in her children’s public and religious schooling, becoming involved with their schools’ PTA. She was also involved with Congregation Beth El in South Orange. 

When she was 90, Anne fulfilled a lifetime desire of attending college. She and her husband began studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University. 

Predeceased by her husband two months before her death, she is survived by her daughter, Maxene Kupperman-Guiñals of New York City; two sons, Arthur (Bonnie) of Gulfport, Fla., and Stewart (Amy) of Mt. Arlington; a sister, Mildred Grossman of Little Egg Harbor; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 15 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
