Anne Brody
Anne Brody, 88, of Whippany died July 19, 2011. Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Newark and then South Orange before moving to Whippany in 2001.
Mrs. Brody had been a teacher at Newark’s Weequahic High School and in West Orange as well as a substitute for the Maplewood/South Orange Board of Education.
She was a cofounder and first president of Concerned Families for Mental Health Services, now known as NAMI Essex. She was also involved with the Brain Injury Association of New Jersey, PTA, League of Women Voters, and the New Jersey Jazz Society.
Predeceased by her husband, Philip, she is survived by two sons, Mitchell of Edison and E. Robert of Mt. Arlington; a brother, Albert Cohen; and a granddaughter.
Services were held July 20 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
