Alyce Farber
Alyce Sylvia Farber (Lehman), 94, of Lake Worth, Fla., died Feb. 4, 2015. She was born in Trenton.
Mrs. Farber and her husband Harold owned and operated the Newtown Tailors, Cleaners and Haberdashers in Newtown, Pa., for over 40 years. She was also a principal and teacher at Har Sinai Temple in Trenton, and taught Yiddish at Community High School for Jewish Studies.
She was educated in the Trenton public schools, Rutgers University, and Hebrew Union College.
She initiated several Yiddish clubs in New Jersey and Florida. She served on Har Sinai’s board of trustees and was a past president of the Trenton chapter of Deborah Hospital.
She coordinated and narrated fashion shows for various organizations, was involved with community-wide interfaith programs, and directed historical pageants. She was also a tour guide for Starr Bus Company.
Predeceased by her husband Harold, she is survived by her son, Richard; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 9 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing.
