Dr. Alvin Robert (Bobby) Mintz, 96, a lifelong Morristown resident, died Nov. 3, 2010.
Dr. Mintz retired 24 years ago after spending 45 years in private practice as a pediatrician in Morristown. He was a staff physician at Morristown Memorial Hospital and held a teaching appointment at the New Jersey College of Medicine.
He was a graduate of Cornell University in 1935 and its medical school in 1938.
He served as a captain and air field physician in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was instrumental in fund raising, particularly for Israel Bonds. He and his family were among the founding members of Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beatrice; his daughter, Marji Josephs; his son, Marshall; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 5 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
