Alvin J. Carr, 86, of Newtown, Pa., died July 5, 2011. Born in Trenton, he previously lived in Yardley, Pa., and Delray Beach, Fla.
Mr. Carr was a certified computer consultant until his retirement. He was the former owner of Trenton Tobacco Company, National Buyers Exchange, Trenton Data Center, and ACARR Systems. He was listed in “Who’s Who in American Business.”
He was a graduate of Lafayette College, Easton, Pa., and attended Rutgers University, University of Minnesota, and Harvard University School of Business for graduate studies.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a trustee at Adath Israel Congregation, Lawrenceville.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Karolyn Diamond-Jones; a stepson, Robert Lotys; and four grandchildren.
Services were held July 8 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Adath Israel Congregation.
