Alvin Anshelewitz, 63, of Holmdel died May 6, 2011. Born in Aucksburg, Germany, he lived in Coney Island before moving to Holmdel 25 years ago.
Mr. Anshelewitz owned and operated Al’s Best Electric in Manhattan for 30 years before retiring.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was the owner of thoroughbred race horses that ran at Monmouth Park Racetrack.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Ann; three sons, Chad, Stephen, and Jarett; two daughters, Dawn Reddington and Tammy Sherman; and six grandchildren.
Services were held May 9 with arrangements by Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan.
