Althea Wurmbrand
Althea Wurmbrand (Asch), 78, of Kendall Park died May 15, 2013. She was raised in New York City and moved to Kendall Park in 1961.
An educational specialist for children with severe emotional issues, Mrs. Wurmbrand worked as a teacher in several schools in New Jersey. She retired as head of school of the Carrier Foundation Day School.
Predeceased by her husband, Morton, in 2011, she is survived by her daughter, Susan Wurmbrand; her son, Stephan Wurmbrand (Judy Herrell); a brother, Sam Asch; and three grandchildren.
Services were held May 21 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rabbi’s or Cantor’s Discretionary Funds at Congregation B’nai Tikvah, North Brunswick.
