Alfred Jacobs
Alfred Jacobs, 85, of Monroe Township died Jan. 5, 2012. Born in Bayonne, he formerly resided in Connecticut before returning to New Jersey 22 years ago, first residing in Voorhees and then Monroe.
Mr. Jacobs was employed for over 40 years by Pitney Bowes, Inc. His final position there was as executive vice president of sales, where he covered a territory of all states west of the Mississippi, including Alaska and Hawaii. He then began a second career with Schering Plough for 19 years, assisting in the Medical Communications Department. He retired at age 80.
As a result of his love of music, he purchased his first baby grand piano at the age of 19. Later in life, he was an active member of the Civil Air Patrol, an auxiliary branch of the United States Air Force.
Predeceased by his son, Todd Nathan, he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean Ruth Jacobs, his daughter, Lori Jacobs Weiss; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 8 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Princeton Hospice, Princeton.
