Alexander Monheit

Alexander Monheit, 101, of Edison died Oct. 21, 2010. Born in Brooklyn, he also resided in Jersey City and Springfield before moving to Edison 10 years ago.

Mr. Monheit was the owner of Jackson Shoe Mart in Hillside.

He was a member of the YM-YWHA of Union County, Union.

Predeceased by his wife, Gussie, he is survived by his son, Barry of Arizona; his daughter, Deborah Wasserman of Old Bridge; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 24 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the Union YM-YWHA.
