Alex Dzik

Alex Dzik, 85, of West Orange died April 13, 2013. Born in Warsaw, Poland, he lived in the Bronx and Queens before moving to West Orange in 1958.

Mr. Dzik was an electrical engineer for many years with various companies, including RCA, Burroughs, Litton, and Sweda. He also taught as a professor at New Jersey Institute of Technology and most recently at RETS Institute, Nutley.

He received his advanced degree in electrical engineering from Brooklyn Polytech Institute.

He was a radio officer in the Merchant Marines.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances; two sons, Barry of Washington state and Jeffrey (Melissa) of Lawrenceville; his daughter, Jocelyn (Brian) of Flanders; a brother, Sidney (Dorothy) of New Hyde Park, NY; and three grandchildren.

Services were held April 16 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
