Agnes Elias
Agnes Elias, 88, of Highland Park died July 19, 2011. Born in New York City, she previously lived in the Bronx, Queens, and Iselin before moving to Highland Park in 2007.
Mrs. Elias worked as a switchboard operator and bookkeeper before becoming a teacher’s aide and special education classroom aide in the New York City public school system.
She earned an associate’s degree from Queensboro Community College, NY.
She attended Torah on Tuesday classes at Congregation Anshe Emeth, Highland Park. She also participated in the Social Day Program at the Parker Home.
Predeceased by her husband, Sol, she is survived by her son, Maurice of Highland Park; a brother, Irving Mizrahi of Florida; a sister, Diana of Iselin; two granddaughters; and a great-grandson.
Services were held July 21 with arrangements by Sinai Chapels of Forest Hills, Queens. Memorial contributions may be made to Macular Degeneration Research.
