Adele Borrus
Adele R. Borrus (Margolis), 90, of Highland Park died March 13, 2019. Born in Chelsea, Mass., she spent her early childhood in Dorchester, Mass., and teen years in Miami before returning to Amherst, Mass., to attend university. After her marriage she lived in North Brunswick and Princeton, and she also had a home on Long Beach Island.
For many years, Mrs. Borrus worked as a statistician, first with the Department of Aeronautics at University of Massachusetts, then with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Rutgers University Child Psychology Laboratory. After taking time off to raise children, she returned to work as a librarian at North Brunswick Township High School.
She graduated from University of Massachusetts in 1949 with a bachelor of arts in mathematics.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jack; two daughters, Amy Borrus (Richard Miller) and Janet Borrus (Christopher Grove); her son, David Borrus (Amy Bamforth); and five grandchildren.
Services were held March 17 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 West 44th St., New York, N.Y. 10036.
