Abraham Zoss
Abraham O. Zoss, 98, of Maplewood died May 17, 2015. Born in South Bend, Ind., he lived in Verona and New York City before moving to Maplewood over 10 years ago.
Dr. Zoss was employed as a corporate research chemist and, ultimately, as a consultant.
He earned a PhD in organic chemistry from University of Notre Dame and developed numerous patents.
He was an honored member of the American Chemical Society, the Chemists Club of New York City, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and Israel Bonds.
Predeceased by his wife, Magda (Santo), he is survived by two daughters, Hope Zoss of Philadelphia and Diane (Norman) Goldberg of Alexandria Township; two sons, Joel of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Roger of Ferndale, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 19 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
