Abraham Winograd
Abraham Winograd, 95, of Franklin Township died June 4, 2013. Born in Queens, he resided in Woodbridge for 60 years before moving to Franklin in 2009.
Prior to retiring in 1983, Mr. Winograd was the owner of Mechanik’s Toy & Juvenile Center, Red Bank, where he worked for 33 years.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served from 1944 to 1946, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant.
He was a congregant of Congregation Neve Shalom, Metuchen; prior to that, he was a congregant of Congregation Adath Israel, Woodbridge. He was also a lifetime associate member of Hadassah and former Jewish War Veterans post commander.
Predeceased by his wife, Miriam L., in 2012, he is survived by his son, David of Ellenville, NY; his daughter, Karen (Robert Lear) Winograd of Matawan; and five grandchildren.
Services were held June 7 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice, 49 Veronica Ave., Suite 206, Somerset, NJ 08873.
