About Kahntentions
Gilbert N. Kahn is a professor of Political Science at Kean University.
My name is Gilbert Kahn and I am a Professor of Political Science at Kean University in Union, NJ. My academic work deals with Executive-Legislative relations in the U.S. as well as foreign policy especially vis-à-vis Europe and the Middle East. I have a particular interest in the history and effectiveness of Presidential decision making and leadership in both domestic and foreign policy.
I also head a public policy consulting firm which works with political candidates on matters related to U.S. relations with Israel. My consulting work has included, and continues to include, political campaigns at all levels, local, state, and national.
In addition to my academic and consulting work, I write a bi-weekly column in the New Jersey Jewish News where I try to present an open and intellectually honest analysis of issues facing the United States, Israel, and Jews. From time to time I have been accused of being contrarian and I admit to frequently being contentious.
Blogging is my way of sharing my fresh and poignant but not always gracious political analysis of human behavior and the human condition in 21st Century politics.
