“A Taste of NJ’s Best”
FAMILYConnections’ “A Taste of NJ’s Best” will honor two area families on Wednesday, May 2, at the Wilshire Grand Hotel, West Orange.
The event, to honor Beth Berns and family of Short Hills and Bernice Manshel of West Orange, will benefit over 4,000 area children, adults, and families served by the counseling and family service agency.
Beth and Steven Berns and their sons Matthew, Billy, and Adam will receive the 2018 Champions of the People Award. Beth, a member of Temple B’nai Jeshurun in Short Hills, served on the FAMILYConnections’ board of trustees for 10 years. Steven, Matthew, Billy, and Adam have served as volunteers during that time.
Bernice Manshel will receive the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award. She served on FAMILYConnections’ Board for 11 years. A leader in the development of policies and reforms to improve child welfare and juvenile justice services in New Jersey, she has served as the director of the state’s Division of Youth and Family Services and special assistant to the N.J. Attorney General.
Food from area restaurants and caterers will be served at “A Taste of NJ’s Best,” with proceeds to support FAMILYConnections’ services.
