The Empty Chair
“The Empty Chair: Dealing With Grief During Passover,” a one-time free support session, will be offered by Jewish Family & Children’s Service in Princeton on Thursday, April 11, 10:30-11:45 a.m. Facilitated by chaplain Beverly Rubman, it will cover: what you do and don’t want at your seder this year and possible new rituals. Jewish Family & Children’s Service will offer the third in a series of full-day Youth Mental Health First Aid certification sessions on Sunday, April 28, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at the agency’s offices in Princeton. The program provides the tools to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance abuse disorders. Certification is from the National Council for Behavioral Health. Mobile food pantry
Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Mercer County has begun its Healthy@Home Senior Nutrition Program, a non-sectarian initiative which provides low-income, homebound seniors with healthy food and nutrition information delivered directly to their door. Clients work with a geriatric care manager and registered dietician to select foods that are healthy, easy to prepare, and enjoyable; chooses include fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, poultry, frozen fish and chicken, frozen fruits and vegetables, canned goods, and soups.
