‘Sarge’ in Howell
Comedian-singer-pianist Steven “Sarge” Pickman performs at Congregation Ahavat Olam, Howell, at 2 p.m. Pickman, who has performed on “The Late Show” and at Radio City Music Hall, is a “savant” who has been entertaining since the age of 6. Raised by adoptive Jewish parents, Pickman struggled to understand his black heritage. Struggles with his identity led to alcohol, drugs, gambling, and a period of homelessness.
