Lois Staffin (Labovitz), 84, of Watchung died May 25, 2019. She was born in Philadelphia and later raised her children in Westfield.
Mrs. Staffin was the director of social services at both Newark Beth Israel Hospital and later at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
She graduated from Temple University with a degree in elementary education. She received her master’s degree in social work from Rutgers University.
She volunteered for Jersey Battered Women’s Service, completed the New York Times crossword puzzle in pen every Sunday, and enjoyed sculpting.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gerry; two daughters, Allison (Dan) Rindner and Beth (Allon) Shadmi; her son, Rob (Gail Talcoff); and seven grandchildren.
