Arthur Friedman of Monroe Township died May 3, 2011. Born in Newark, he resided in West Orange before moving to Monroe 16 years ago.
Prior to retiring in 1994, Mr. Friedman was an optician and owner of A. Friedman Opticians in Verona, where he worked for many years.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was also a life member of the Free and Accepted Masons, formerly of South Orange, and a member of the Jewish War Veterans’ Post #609, Monroe.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Madeline Vice Friedman; his son, Craig of West Orange; his daughter, Andrea Kornbluth of Old Bridge; and four grandchildren.
Services were held May 5 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick.
